No Longer on Itinerary

United States military forces commenced bombing of Iraq on March 19th, 2003. Warnings have been issued by the US government to neighbouring countries.

Because of this and the uncertainty of travelling to a region made unstable by war, we have decided to remove Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan from our current itinerary. We will definitely be re-making plans to visit the Middle East at some time in the future.

May those who have been affected by these tragic events find peace and comfort in the times ahead.

It has been almost a year since we decided to forgo visiting the Middle East region due to the US invasion of Iraq. Now, with the benefit of hindsight, we wish that we had not made the decision to not go, as we have encountered several travellers who have visited these three countries in the last year with no incident whatsoever.

Of course, we were able to spend lots of quality time elsewhere, so there's really no reason for us to have any regrets. We'll be visiting Syria, Lebanon and Jordan one day!
